咖啡連鎖巨頭星巴克(Starbucks)6日宣佈，其英國分公司未來兩年將向英國政府增加納稅，增加的額度約爲2000萬英鎊(約合人民幣2億元)。這是星巴克迫於英國輿論壓力而作出的承諾。</p>
<p>
英國媒體今年10月披露，星巴克1998年進入英國市場，迄今已有735家連鎖店，營業額超過30億英鎊，但14年來只繳納企業所得稅860萬英鎊。在過去3年，星巴克營業額高達12億英鎊，但沒有向英國繳納企業所得稅。</p>
<p>
此事在英國引起軒然大波，許多英國民衆對星巴克的行爲表示憤怒，並在網絡上發起抵制星巴克的活動。</p>
<p>
星巴克英國分公司總經理克里斯·恩格斯科沃(Kris Engskov)表示，在未來兩年內，無論盈利狀況如何，星巴克都將向英國政府繳納高於往年的稅款。</p>
<p>
恩格斯科沃表示，星巴克對這一事件引發英國民衆的對立情緒“非常震驚”，將採取進一步行動來挽回公衆的信任。</p>
<p>
但他並不承認星巴克在過去有過逃稅行爲。“在英國開展業務以來，我們一直在合法地納稅。”恩格斯科沃說，“但我們也已經意識到，在經濟低迷的關鍵時期，顧客顯然希望我們能做得更多。”</p>
<p>
與星巴克同樣在英國面臨避稅指控的互聯網公司谷歌(Google)則表示，公司目前的安排完全符合英國的稅務條例，不會更改。</p>
