Arabica咖啡(小粒咖啡) 原產於埃塞俄比亞.全世界四分之三的Arabica生產於此,其質量最受歡迎.它的咖啡因含量低( 1至1,5 % ) ,主要種植地區爲南美,在巴西和哥倫比亞.它的種類多樣: Bourbon巴西波本種咖啡豆,Mokka磨卡, Maragogype 古巴馬拉戈日皮咖啡豆,肯尼亞Java,瓜地馬拉咖啡。

Robusta咖啡在19世紀比利時的剛果(今天的扎伊爾) 被人們發現,它能夠在低海拔的地方生長,Arabica卻不能夠,這個特性從經濟角度上看也是很令人感興趣的.原產於非洲中部,它的產量比Arabica要高出很多,因此而影響到它的價格.而由於早熟和抗寄生蟲的特點使它成爲一種備受好評的品種.一般的Robusta,它的味道是有點苦,濃和重的,1,6至2,7 %的咖啡因含量.其品種有: Niaouli , Kouillou , Congenis , Indénié</p>

Libérica 咖啡是由大的漿果做成的,但其味道較爲平庸.現在人們越來越少地種植這個品種,不過在其生產國還是受到歡迎的.</p>
<p>
另一小有名氣的品種是Exelsa (或Dewvrei ),他和Robusta 很相似, 又比Libérica更耐乾燥. 而最廣泛種植的還是Arabica和Robusta.</p>
